(AP) — LSU star forward Angel Reese, who has missed four games for undisclosed reasons, is rejoining the No. Reese had foreshadowed her return when she posted on social media a photo of herself inside LSU's basketball stadium, the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Tigers (7-1) won all of the games Reese missed, most of them by wide margins, and have not lost since dropping their opener in Las Vegas to then-No. Reese started LSU’s first four games, averaging 17 points and 10.3 rebounds as the Tigers went 3-1. Reese was LSU’s on-court leader last season, when the Tigers won the program’s maiden national title.

On Monday, there was no indication that Reese would be back with the team for a home game against Texas Southern. It would be highly unusual for a player to begin missing games because of academic eligibility after the basketball season started but before the end of the first semester of an academic year. No LSU players were made available for postgame interviews. Nicknamed the “Bayou Barbie," Reese led LSU to its first national title in women’s basketball last season.

CNN —Two-time Olympic gold medalist Jim Hines, who was the first man to run 100m in under 10 seconds, passed away on Saturday at the age of 76, according to World Athletics. Hines’ world record earned him his first individual Olympic gold medal. Hines also won the 4x100m in a world record time at the same Olympics, anchoring the US team to victory in a time of 38.24 seconds. The sprinter grew up in Oakland, California, though he was born in Arkansas, according to USATF.
